What this site learns about you would fit on the back of a pizza box. Here is the complete list, and what happens to it.

The order window

The only personal information we ever receive is what you type into the contact form: a name, an email address for the reply, and your message. There is no account, no newsletter, no other way in.

Counting readers by the dozen

A visit counter may be switched on that tallies page views, approximate regions and device types, as totals only. It cannot tell us who you are and a site about dough has no reason to want to.

What the information is used for

Replying to you; seeing which bakes get read so the next ones improve; keeping the site secure. We do not sell it and we do not hand it to marketers. The advertising described below is served by Google, not by us, and we receive nothing personal back from it.

The oven's own records

Separately from anything above, the company that hosts these pages keeps ordinary server logs: the IP address a request came from, the browser it announced itself as, which page was asked for and when. They exist so the site can be kept secure and so faults can be traced, they are rotated on the host's own schedule, and we do not use them to work out who anyone is.

Cookies

The counter, when running, sets its own. The advertising below sets more. Block or clear them in your browser and every page works the same.

The ads beside the recipes

This site carries advertising served by Google. Google and the partners it works with may set cookies or use similar identifiers to choose the ads you see and to measure whether they were seen. In some regions those ads can be based on pages you visited before, here or elsewhere.

You decide how much of that happens. Google's own ad settings let you switch personalised advertising off for your account, and any browser can block or clear cookies for this site. Turn it all off and the oven notes read exactly the same.

Two helpers in the background

FormSubmit delivers the messages; the measurement provider, when active, counts the visits. Each operates under its own privacy policy and receives only what its task needs.

How long we keep things

Messages: until answered, then up to twelve months in case the conversation continues. Counter totals: the provider's standard period.

Your rights

Refiring

If the site or the law changes, this page is refired with a new date at the top so you know which version is in force.
